Well, the last couple of weeks have been a wild ride. Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a kid, or one of ten thousand other kinds of humans, you’re probably some combination of tired, distracted, anxious, and maybe a little bored. Social distancing is hard–but it’s also an important way to keep everyone safe.
Since I’m a children’s author, I wanted to find a way to help parents, kids, and teachers all at once. Inspired by the great Mo Willems, I decided to start a weekly video series called Talking About Books With Kids. Each episode focuses on a theme and includes a brief reading of one of my books, book recommendations, and activity suggestions.
The first video was live-streamed on Instagram and posted to YouTube later, but it was pretty complicated–so from now on, I’ll be streaming directly to YouTube, and the videos will be available to watch for as long as YouTube exists. My next video will be live-streaming tomorrow, March 28th, at 11:00 EST on my new YouTube channel. Remember to subscribe!
In case you missed it, here’s the first video. It was a bit of a technical adventure, but hopefully streaming direct to YouTube will smooth out most of the wrinkles. Kids–don’t forget to send me your questions!
